Aspiring Bakers #17 – March Macaron Madness! (Mar 2012)
March is here and its macaroning time! Time to whisk up those egg whites and get funky with colours and flavourings! Yes, it can be a challenge for those who’s not made it before, but its also gonna be fun! Be forewarned, it can get addictive! Challenge yourself by making a batch of basic macs and enthrall your family and friends with them! If others can do it, so can you!
For seasoned mac bakers, extend your repertoire from the run-in-the-mill chocolate and vanilla by trying out new flavours and designs! Fruits, spices and liqueurs are just some of the things I can think of now and hoping to see in your bakes! Pay homage to grandmasters of pastry making like Pierre Herme or Stephane Glacier by re-creating some of their masterpieces, so simply come up with your very own, which may become your very own signature bakes in time to come!
What are we looking for?
French, or more specficially Parisian macarons in all thinkable colour, shape, size and flavours! Get creative and get crazy cos its macaron madness! Macarons inspired and incorporated bakes and makes are also accepted! Think trifle, tarts and even tiramisu!!! Its just gotta have a macaron in it, so think creative!
Who can join?
Everyone! (if you do not have a blog, just send me a photo and recipe of your macarons). If you have baked macs before, its time to stretch your tent with your creativity. If you havent dabble with them before, this is the perfect excuse to get started!
How to join?
Step 1 : Make some macarons in the month of March 2012. Any Parisian macaron is acceptable, any colour, any flavour, any shape and any size! But not coconut macaroons and meringue cookies please!
Step 2 : Post it on your blog between 01 March 2012 and 31 March 2012. Your post must include the recipe or link to the original recipe. If you are using a recipe from a book, please include the title of the book too. Please note the following!
*Any entries that are posted outside the date range will not be accepted.
*Any entries that do not include a recipe or link to the original recipe will not be accepted too.
Step 3 : Please mention that you are submitting your post to Aspiring Bakers #17 – March Macaron Madness! (Mar 2012) hosted by Alan of Travellingfoodies and provide a link back to this post HERE. Entries will not be accepted if the above is not included.
